Professor Dr. Mohammad Raknuzzaman

Dr. Mohammad Raknuzzaman is a distinguished academic and researcher renowned for his expertise in environmental science and fisheries. With a rich educational background and extensive professional experience, Dr. Raknuzzaman has made significant contributions to academia and environmental research. He completed his Post-Doctoral research at Yokohama National University, Japan, in 2017, furthering his knowledge and expertise in environmental science. Prior to that, he earned his PhD (D Sc) in Environmental Science from Yokohama National University, Japan, in 2016, being awarded for his outstanding research contributions. His dedication to environmental studies was evident in his Post-Graduation in Sustainable Living with Environmental Risk (SLER) from Yokohama National University, Japan, in 2014, where he achieved excellence.

In 2011, Dr. Raknuzzaman was recognized as an Erasmus Mundus Scholar, Grade A, during his pursuit of a Master of Science degree from a consortium of prestigious universities including the University of Ghent, Belgium; University of Bielefeld, Germany; University of Jaén, Spain; and University of Évora, Portugal. His academic journey began with an MSc in Fisheries from the Department of Zoology, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 1999, where he graduated with First Class honors and demonstrated exceptional aptitude in the field. Earlier, he completed his BSc (Honors) in Zoology from the same institution in 1998, earning him the Dean’s Honor for his outstanding performance throughout his undergraduate studies.

Dr. Raknuzzaman currently serves as a Professor at the University of Dhaka, a position he has held since 2018. Prior to this, he held the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Fisheries at the same university from 2012 to 2018. His academic journey began as a Lecturer in the Department of Fisheries at the University of Dhaka in 2003, where he steadily rose through the ranks to become an Assistant Professor in 2006.

Throughout his career, Dr. Mohammad Raknuzzaman has been dedicated to advancing knowledge in environmental science and fisheries, contributing significantly to both academia and environmental research. His passion for teaching, coupled with his extensive research experience, continues to inspire future generations of scholars and environmentalists alike.
